When ch is switched on the boiler does this, it's as though the pilot light won't stay lit

Greenstar 24i junior hot water but no heating

Boiler work's fine when using hot water and heating work's simultaneously but when hot water is turned off and heating left on boiler cuts out, if heating is used on its own boiler cuts out also
Errrmmmm what am I looking for
just had mine fixed, same boiler,,, I had slow blue light flashing, fast red light reset button flashing, and now green pilot light in the flame symbol,,,, I tried reset, topped my pressure back up to just above 1 bar because it was a bit low, reset again, same thing as before, lights started flashing after a few moments,,, got gas guy out, he said straight away it looks like gas valve, and it was, took him about 1 hour to fix, my housing association use there own firm, so it was free fix for me.
It's a blocked gas jet , or gas pressure too low
@Col7777 I finally called out the engineer , the problem was the gas pressure , it came from a faulty gas regulator on the actual main gas meter , He rang the Gas board direct , they consider this problem an emergency and guarantee to be at you're home in 2 hours , They changed the regulator and the boiler was good as new . And because the problem was from the gas meter itself the repair was free , just had to pay £30 to the boiler engineer
@Col7777 try this , switch you gas off at the mains meter for half an hour and the boiler , turn it back on the gas first then the boiler if it fires up it's definitely a gas regulator problem , this is just a quick fix I used so I could quickly get a shower , and it only works for about an hour or two max

N Warburton hi, sorry for this. My boiler is causing the same problem, did you manage to find a solution? I’ve had the gas valve, electrodes and full clean out done but still the same issue. According to some research it could be a blocked burner but would like to know if you managed to resolve your problem and if so how? Thank you
